Succulent prawns splashed in olive oil and cooked with garlic and red chilies is all you need to start off this weekend on a fiery note. So without wasting any further time, lets get started to make our Chili Garlic Prawns!

Ingredients for Prawns Marination:
1st Marination:

Prawns (cleaned, peeled and deveined) | 250 g |
Salt | 1 tsp |
Turmeric Powder | 1 tsp |
2nd Marination:
Items | Quantity |
Garlic Paste | 2 tsp |
Ginger Paste | 1 tsp |
Black Pepper Powder | 1/2 tsp |
Refined Flour (Maida) | 2 tbsp |
Corn Flour | 2 tbsp |
Black Soy Sauce | 1 tsp |
Egg | 1 |
Other Ingredients:
Items | Quantity |
Garlic (minced) | 1 tsp |
Ginger (minced) | 1 tsp |
Whole Dry Red Chilies | 2 |
Green Chilies (slit) | 3-4 |
Spring Onion (white portion) | 1/2 cup |
Onion Petals | 1 medium sized |
Red Bell Pepper | 1/8 cup |
Yellow Bell Pepper | 1/8 cup |
Green Bell Pepper | 1/8 cup |
Salt | 1/4 tsp (as per taste) |
Black Pepper Powder | 1/2 tsp |
Dark Soy Sauce | 2 tsp |
Red Chili Sauce | 2 tbsp |
White Vinegar | 1 tsp |
Spring Onions (green portion) | 2 tbsp |
Fried Prawns | as prepared |
Preparation:
- Clean, shell and devein the prawns, wash and pat dry.
- Marinate with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp of turmeric powder. Set aside for 15 mins.
- After 15 minutes, add garlic paste, ginger paste, black pepper powder, refined flour (maida), corn flour, black soy sauce and egg as per the quantity mentioned above. Mix and coat well.
- Set aside for 30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil for deep frying the battered/marinated prawns.
- Once the oil is medium hot, add the battered prawns one by one in hot oil and fry for around 2-3 mins till golden. Fry in batches if required.
- Strain and keep it on a plate. Repeat the same procedure for the rest of the prawns.
How To Cook:
- In the same oil used for deep-frying prawns, add the chopped garlic and ginger, give a stir for 1 minute on medium heat.
- Now add the whole red chilies and sliced green chilies, fry for another 1 minute on medium heat.
- Now add the spring onion whites. Fry until slightly brown on medium heat.
- Add the onion petals, cubed green, yellow and red bell peppers. Sprinkle salt, fry 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
- Now add the fried prawns, mix and keep sautéing on high heat for another 30 secs.
- Now pour in black soy sauce, red soy sauce, white vinegar, spring onions (green portion) and black pepper powder, mix it well to coat the fried prawns. Stir fry for 6-7 mins. on medium heat, mix and serve hot.
